Don’t quit MN because of Bersatu, Umno tells PAS

PAS ought not forsake the Muafakat Nasional (MN) union in light of the fact that Umno would rather not work with Bersatu, said Umno agent president Mohamad Hasan.

He said one reason MN was shaped was to go against Pakatan Harapan, and requesting that Umno work with Bersatu would conflict with the soul on which MN was established.

“Requesting that Umno acknowledge Bersatu is against the soul of MN’s development. What more when Bersatu was chummy with the DAP in restricting us and later bringing down an Umno-drove government,” he said in an assertion today.

Recently, PAS said it would dismiss MN in light of the fact that Umno had demanded that the coalition was restrictive to PAS and Umno alone.

PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang had said that this conflicted with MN’s sanction to concede other Malay-based gatherings and NGOs into the overlay.

Mohamad, who is prominently called Tok Mat, said while MN could consider tolerating different gatherings as a “amazing Malay umbrella alliance”, any such choice should initially consider the interests of Umno and PAS.

“That is the reason we never welcomed PKR, Amanah, Putra or Pejuang to join MN, in spite of the fact that they are essential for the ummah (local area).

“PAS ought to know that Umno’s representatives hosted chose at the gathering’s yearly broad get together not to help out Bersatu. Umno requirements to adhere to this choice,” he said.

Mohamad said PAS ought not leave MN in light of the fact that Bersatu was excluded from it, as this issue was less significant than the bigger interests of the Malays and Islam.
